New article on orbital inflammation: Paraneoplastic orbital myositis caused by renal cell carcinoma
We describe an extremely rare cause of orbital myositis, an inflammation of the muscles that turn the eye, caused by an auto-immune reaction to a distant primary tumor. The paper has been published in Orbit, a renowned peer reviewed scientific paper since it raises awareness of this diagnostic possibility when patients present with painful eyes, swelling of the ocular mucosa and an inability to move their eyes.
